Embark on a boat ride through the fjords to a remote island for a walk on the glacier and into a blue ice cave visited by few.
  • Experience local traditions still being practiced today

  • Opportunity to taste a variety of local foods

  • Explore the community at your own pace

Journey 40 minutes by boat through fjords lined with mountains and drifting icebergs before arriving at the glacier island where your certified guide fits you with a helmet and crampons. An approximate half an hour walk on the ice takes you to the entrance of the cave past moulins where meltwater disappears into the glacier and crevasses that show you how deep the ice really goes.

Inside, the light turns blue. The walls are polished and grooved, the ceiling arches overhead. Resurfacing we walk to a viewpoint above the calving front, where icebergs break off and begin their journey down the fjord.
